New Staff Member RAS is delighted to announce the appointment of Julie Crosland. Julie will commence with RAS on 1 September in this 20 hour per week position. Julie is extremely well qualified: MHSc (Psychotherapy); MA (Applied) Social Work; BA (Sociology) Advanced Certificate in Dual Diagnosis; Certificate in Clinical Supervision. MANZASW. Julie has had 17 years experience working in the mental health field and for the last 5 years has worked for the Capital and Coast DHB as a Senior Social Worker/Counsellor for their Alcohol and Drug Service. On top of these qualifications and relevant work experience, Julie has had a long association with the Wellington Community Interpreting Service (Interpreting Wellington) and was their foundation Board Chair. She also worked for Refugee Services in its formative years Angels Network Successful The Friends of RAS, made up of members of the Wellington Rotary Club and RAS Board member, recently launched the Angels Network at a Wellington Rotary Club meeting. The Angels Network provides a range of ways people can contribute in goods, services time etc to the development of RAS through supporting RAS staff and their refugee clients. It has proved very successful with 27 individuals signed up as Angels already. Many families have been assisted with donations of second hand furnishings, sports and recreational goods and services such as help with obtaining a drivers license.
